The Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs are taking a road trip to take on the Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Gwynedd Mercy Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Gwynedd Mercy Academy and Villa Maria Academy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Monarchs fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 7-6.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy got a good showing from Mary Werner, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Natalie Kelley and Abby Howard stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kelley went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Howard scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That double was Kelley's first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Ryan). They came out on top against Little Flower Catholic for Girls by a score of 9-5 on Thursday. The Raiders and Ragdolls haven't had any issues with Little Flower Catholic for Girls recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Isabella Baron was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Baron was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Moira Maw was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Hailey Johnston was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Archbishop Ryan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Little Flower Catholic for Girls struck out eight times.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Archbishop Ryan, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
