Key West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Lehigh with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 40-22. The high-scoring effort was just what the Conchs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Key West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Walson Morin led the charge by rushing for 265 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries, while also picking up 41 receiving yards and one touchdown. Morin really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run. Jeff Dejean was another key back, rushing for 152 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Key West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 446 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile, Jackson fell victim to True North Classical Academy and their airtight defense last Friday. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Titans. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Titans are ranked 58th).
Key West's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
