Baseball Recap: Fort Lupton Takes a Loss

Fort Lupton was the 17-3 winner over Alameda when they last played one another back in May of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluedevils lost 13-3 to the Pirates on Wednesday. The Bluedevils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jesse Ceretto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Fort Lupton: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-8 otherwise.

Fort Lupton's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Alameda, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Lupton will head out to challenge Middle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.3 runs per game on average), something the Bluedevils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alameda, they will venture away from home to face off against Rangeview at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
