Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Comes Up Short

Temple Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 48-36 to the Gilead Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-27 back in November of 2024.

Gilead Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Talan Blankenship, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 21 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Blankenship has scored at least a third of Gilead Christian's points. Aden Wagner was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Temple Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Gilead Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12.

Temple Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gilead Christian, they will take on Plants and Pillars HomeSchool at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
