Baseball Recap: Madison Beats Hudson for Their Fifth Straight Win

Madison waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Hudson Tigers 14-5. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Brian Dopp was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Madison: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Barber, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles.

Madison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.

Madison's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-1.

Coming up, Madison will challenge Blissfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hudson, they will face off against Whiteford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
