Softball Recap: Southfield Arts & Tech Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Southfield Arts & Tech was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against King on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kendall Evans, 2028 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trinity Hester, 2028 was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cienna Bell, 2028, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Southfield Arts & Tech lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Southfield Arts & Tech pushed their record up to 15-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for King, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-4.

Coming up, Southfield Arts & Tech will venture away from home to take on Edison Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for King, they will welcome Thurston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
