Softball Recap: Mount Vernon Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Mount Vernon took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lynden, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 13-7 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Mount Vernon's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lynden, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Mount Vernon will challenge Blaine at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Borderites at the right time seeing as the Borderites are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lynden, they will take on Anacortes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
