Volleyball Recap: Yates Center Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Yates Center won the last time they faced Altoona-Midway and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Jets by a score of 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Yates Center took both sets by at least 17 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-8.

Yates Center can attribute much of their success to Mylin Tidd, who had five aces and three assists. That's the most aces Tidd has posted over her last nine games. Linde Hodges also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Yates Center was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. They are a perfect 11-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Yates Center pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Altoona-Midway, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Yates Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Southern Coffey County on the 23rd. After both having extra time off, Altoona-Midway and Jayhawk Linn will shake off the rust and duke it out on Tuesday.
