Softball Recap: Ponderosa Victorious

Ponderosa lost to Inderkum back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bruins came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

Haley Warney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kate McCartney was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ellie Escobar, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Ponderosa's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Inderkum, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-8 record.

Ponderosa will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rio Americano at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Inderkum, they are taking a road trip to square off against Vista del Lago at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
