Basketball Recap: Florida Christian Takes a Loss

Florida Christian lost against Westminster Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Florida Christian Patriots took a blow against the Westminster Christian Warriors, falling 62-24.

Westminster Christian found their leader in sophomore Angelina Fernandez, who posted 22 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Fernandez has scored at least a third of Westminster Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Kenney, who earned 13 points and four steals.

Florida Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Westminster Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-8.

Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 75-7 loss against Schoolhouse Prep on the 27th. As for Westminster Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-37 victory against Calvary Christian Academy on the 24th.
