Basketball Recap: Niskayuna Piles Up the Points Against South Glens Falls

With a playoff win on the line, Niskayuna rose to the challenge on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 70-31 victory over the South Glens Falls Bulldogs. The win was some much needed relief for the Silver Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Niskayuna to victory were Ciarra Gonzalez and Natalie Birmingham. Gonzalez dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards, while Birmingham went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Gonzalez a new career-high in shooting accuracy (78%). Ava Roemer was another key player, going 5-for-7 on her way to 10 points.

Niskayuna was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Niskayuna now has a winning record of 11-10. As for South Glens Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.
