Volleyball Recap: Clovis East Takes a Loss

Clovis East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Buchanan Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Timberwolves of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Jimena Alvarado paced Clovis East's offense, picking up five kills. Alvarado got some help from Keniah Verduzco and her seven assists. Finally, Deion Washington and Avery Lang kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Clovis East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Buchanan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Clovis East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Kingsburg on the 22nd. As for Buchanan, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Centennial on the 22nd.
