If the Eagle Mustangs were riding high off their 79-36 takedown of the Emmett Huskies on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Eagle received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 64-49 to Pocatello. Eagle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pocatello apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2015.

Despite the loss, Eagle still got an impressive performance from Russell Gibson, who scored 17 points along with 5 assists. Gibson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cal Huish, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.

Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Pocatello, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle will take on Rocky Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pocatello, they will head out on the road to face off against Meridian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
