Baseball Recap: Westfall Comes Up Short

Westfall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Zane Trace Pioneers, falling 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since April 17th.

Rick Hanley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Austin Geer, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Westfall's record is now 9-8. As for Zane Trace, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Westfall will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fairfield Union at 5:15 p.m. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Zane Trace, they will head out on the road to face off against Circleville at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
