The East Central Trojans will take on the Hauser Jets in a tournament on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
East Central is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Batesville.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Eli Sehlhorst, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 18 points. What's more, he also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Joel Richter was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, East Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hauser, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-29 victory over Edinburgh. Given the Jets' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Lancers are ranked 389th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hauser's win came from a few key players East Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Stryker Gill, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Ledger Gelfius was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six boards.
Hauser's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for East Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
East Central didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hauser when the teams last played back in December of 2017, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. Will East Central repeat their success, or does Hauser have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
