Recap: Chicopee Pacers vs. Pittsfield Generals
The Chicopee Pacers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Pittsfield on the road and fell 86-59. Chicopee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pittsfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Pittsfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyana Summers led the charge by scoring 18 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. Summers is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Stetz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Chicopee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pittsfield, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chicopee will face off against Chicopee Comp at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pittsfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Minnechaug Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Minnechaug Regional is ranked 26th, while Pittsfield is ranked 30th).
