Basketball Recap: Wiggins' Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Wiggins's game on Tuesday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Huskies. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 18-11 in the first quarter.

Briza Flores was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 15 en route to 27 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Highland. The contest was Flores' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Paislee Watson was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

With the loss, Wiggins broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Highland, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Wiggins has already played their next match (against Yuma), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Highland is taking a road trip to square off against Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Highland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
