Soccer Game Preview: Weld Central vs. Fort Morgan

The Weld Central Rebels will take on the Fort Morgan Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Weld Central is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Windsor Charter Academy on Thursday. The Rebels and the Firebirds finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw. The outcome might've been different if Brylie Branch hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited her ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Kayla Branch was the only thing that stood between Weld Central and a shutout considering she scored both of Weld Central's goals, bringing her season total up to six goals.

Meanwhile, Fort Morgan kept a clean sheet against Valley on Monday. They blew past the Vikings 4-0. Considering Fort Morgan's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Weld Central's draw gives them a new season record of 3-9-1. As for Fort Morgan, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10-1.

Everything went Weld Central's way against Fort Morgan in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as Weld Central made off with a 5-2 win. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
