The Lake Region Thunder will challenge the Victory Christian Academy Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Region will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Lake Region made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lake Wales, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Thunder blew past the Highlanders 10-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Thunder have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaeden Geraci was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).

In other batting news, Jehiel Gomez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI and one double. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abraham Ponce, who scored four runs and stole a base.
Lake Region kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy lost 22-11 to Lake Wales on Monday. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Landon Cuzzone was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Mitchell, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Lake Region, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Region has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Victory Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Lake Region's way against Victory Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as Lake Region made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
