Basketball Recap: GEO Next Generation Eagles vs. Elwood Panthers
GEO Next Generation was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Elwood Panthers, falling 59-31. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 59-20 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Mullins, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and six boards. Mullins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jackson Gordon was another key player, putting up ten points.
GEO Next Generation's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Elwood, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. GEO Next Generation will challenge Victory College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on February 19th. As for Elwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southern Wells at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Elwood has lost four straight at home , while Southern Wells has lost six on the road.
