Basketball Game Preview: Shadyside Tigers vs. Barnesville Shamrocks

The Shadyside Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Barnesville Shamrocks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shadyside is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Shadyside ended up a good deal behind Caldwell and lost 55-38. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Redskins 19-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Barnesville played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against River, falling 52-31. The Shamrocks have struggled against the Pilots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Shadyside's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Barnesville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9.

Shadyside ended up a good deal behind Barnesville when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 51-35. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Barnesville's Madelynn Tyson, who went 7 of 12 en route to 22 points and six steals.
