Football Recap: Buchanan's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Friday just wasn't the day for Buchanan's offense. They came up short against the Clovis Cougars on Friday, falling 25-0. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clovis found their leader in sophomore James Curoso, who rushed for 87 yards and four scores. Those four rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Curoso. Deagan Rose also helped out by tossing the rock for 274 yards.

The defeat snapped Buchanan's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record. As for Clovis, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Buchanan is set to face off against their familiar foe Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clovis will square off against rival Clovis North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Rose and Lucas Smith.
