Football Recap: Buchanan's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Buchanan fell victim to Clovis and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 25-0. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Even if they lost, Buchanan's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Russell Devany refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

James Curoso was his usual excellent self, rushing for 87 yards and four TDs for Clovis. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Curoso a new career-high. Deagan Rose also helped out by tossing the rock for 274 yards.

With the loss, Buchanan broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. As for Clovis, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buchanan will welcome Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Clovis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clovis North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Broncos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
