Recap: Hamilton Marines vs. Smith Academy Fighting 54th
The Hamilton Marines can finally bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 30-20 victory over Smith Academy. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Hamilton has managed all season.
Hamilton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jagger Hurraw, who scored eight points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Harry Richter, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Hamilton's victory ended a 18-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-17. As for Smith Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will take on Churubusco at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton is coming into the game with six straight wins at home, meaning Churubusco will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Smith Academy will take on Fort Wayne Canterbury at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Smith Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
