Recap: Cypress Creek Coyotes vs. Wiregrass Ranch Bulls
After flying high against the Tarpon Springs Spongers last Friday, the Cypress Creek Coyotes came back down to earth. Cypress Creek was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 41-40 to Wiregrass Ranch. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cypress Creek in their matchups with Wiregrass Ranch: they've now lost five in a row.
Cypress Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaitlyn Pendleton, who scored eight points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Carinne Washington, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Wiregrass Ranch was led to victory by Andralee Keim and Solei Sowell. Keim scored five points along with ten steals and five assists, while Sowell dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Keim is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Tennae Cabral was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three blocks.
Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wiregrass Ranch, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.
Cypress Creek will head out on the road to challenge Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiregrass Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Lake at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. South Lake is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
