Basketball Recap: Walther Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Walther Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 40-18 takedown of College Prep of America on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Walther Christian Academy Broncos took a blow against the Timothy Christian Trojans on Saturday, falling 52-17. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.

Timothy Christian found their leader in sophomore Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 15 points along with six boards and three steals. Brooklynn Hanchett was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Walther Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Timothy Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Timothy Christian will head out on the road to take on Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
