Baseball Recap: Southern Gets the Win

The Southern Trojans beat the East Jessamine Jaguars 5-1 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Alex Coba looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Marlon Rojas was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Southern's record now sits at 17-11. As for East Jessamine, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.

Looking ahead, Southern will challenge LKY at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for East Jessamine, they will face off against Mason County at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
