Baseball Recap: Randolph Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Delbarton, Randolph was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Montville Mustangs 5-4. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Randolph got a great performance from John Debruckner as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Debruckner a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Mason Wilson was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Randolph is undefeated when Wilson posts one or more home runs, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chase Lorent, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Randolph's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Montville, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Randolph will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
