Volleyball Game Preview: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Serrano Diamondbacks + Official Tickets

The Hesperia Scorpions will head out to take on the Serrano Diamondbacks at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hesperia will be strutting in after a win while Serrano will be coming in after a loss.

Hesperia took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sultana by a score of 3-1.

Hesperia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-17.

Kitana Tapopo was nothing short of spectacular: she had 12 digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Sartoresi, who had eight digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Serrano came up short against Burroughs on Monday and fell 3-1.

While Serrano had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Hesperia's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-2. As for Serrano, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Everything went Hesperia's way against Serrano in their previous matchup back in September, as Hesperia made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scorpions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
