Softball Recap: Atlantic Collegiate Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Kingstree

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atlantic Collegiate Academy). They never let the Kingstree Blazers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Armada have won six matchups by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy let Sophia Ioviero and Lauren Wallace run wild. Ioviero got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four runs, while Wallace went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Wallace a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna Solinger, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Atlantic Collegiate Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kingstree, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9 record.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blazers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
