Softball Recap: Uwharrie Charter Academy Comes Up Short

If Uwharrie Charter Academy was feeling good fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Providence Grove last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Uwharrie Charter Academy fell 8-3 to the Randleman Tigers on Friday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Uwharrie Charter Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emory Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Carly Rush also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Uwharrie Charter Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Randleman, their record now sits at 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uwharrie Charter Academy will welcome Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wheatmore has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.82 runs per game on average), something Uwharrie Charter Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Randleman, they will challenge Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
