Soccer Game Preview: Lisbon vs. Groveton

The Lisbon Panthers will challenge the Groveton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Lisbon earned a 4-2 victory over Lin-Wood. The win made it back-to-back victories for Lisbon.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Groveton). Their defense stepped up to hand Pittsburg a 7-0 shutout on Friday. Groveton have beaten Pittsburg the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Pittsburg has come to flipping the script.

Lisbon's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Groveton, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9-1.

Lisbon beat Groveton 3-1 in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
