This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. That and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
North Point got a 23 - 13 win over Mergenthaler Vo-Tech last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Asa Williams. Williams rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns. That performance made Williams one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between Colonial Forge (4th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Manchester (2nd). Colonial Forge came up short against Manchester, falling 21 - 7. Colonial Forge unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 42-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
Movin on Up
Stone Bridge has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It had all the answers against Broad Run, winning 35 - 6. Two standouts for Stone Bridge were junior Jared Cole and senior Mason Tatum; the former earned two touchdowns and 124 yards rushing the ball while the latter threw for 149 yards and gained 103 yards on the ground. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by 15, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
