Basketball Game Preview: Whiteville Wolfpack vs. Pender Patriots

The Whiteville Wolfpack just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Pender Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Whiteville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

On Thursday, Whiteville strolled past East Columbus with points to spare, taking the game 57-40.

Meanwhile, Pender came up short against Heide Trask on Wednesday and fell 60-53. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Whiteville will need focus on slowing down Jordan Hansley, one of several Pender players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points. Ryan Howell was another key player, putting up eight points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.

Whiteville has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Pender, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Whiteville skirted past Pender 47-44 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Howell, who put up 18 points in addition to six boards and five blocks.
