Softball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Takes a Loss

Deer Isle-Stonington fell victim to Penobscot Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Howlers, falling 19-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Mariners were not able to get on the board.

Deer Isle-Stonington's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Penobscot Valley, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer Isle-Stonington will take on Bangor Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Penobscot Valley, they will challenge Penquis Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Howlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
