Football Recap: Moses Brown Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with East Providence

Moses Brown faced East Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Quakers took a blow against the Townies, falling 32-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Quakers were not able to get on the board.

Gavin Marsh threw for 79 yards on 11 of 17 attempts. Tayvin Tondreau was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards.

East Providence's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Platt, who rushed for 47 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jacob Duarte, who rushed for 45 yards and one TD.

Moses Brown now has a losing record of 3-4. As for East Providence, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moses Brown will face off against Woonsocket at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Providence, after both having extra time off, they and La Salle Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 27.
