Soccer Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 6-0 to the Meridian Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Meridian are ranked 49th).

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Meridian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Skyline and Meridian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Hawks see the pitch they'll take on Manassas Park at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Meridian, their break will end when they face Millbrook at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
