Basketball Recap: Eastland Christian Takes a Loss

Eastland Christian played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 35-3 loss at the hands of the Heritage Prep Praetorians. The Hurricanes haven't had much luck with the Praetorians recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Heritage Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Isnord, who posted ten points and seven steals. Isnord has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Jayla Newton was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Eastland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Heritage Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Eastland Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Prep, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Landmark Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Heritage Prep's defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Landmark Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
