Volleyball Recap: Walnut Grove's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Walnut Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Apalachee Wildcats. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Walnut Grove was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Apalachee work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15.

Zoe Moser paced Walnut Grove's offense, picking up six kills. Moser got some help from Bella Johnson and her 16 assists.

Walnut Grove's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Apalachee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Walnut Grove will square off against Cedar Shoals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Apalachee, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against East Jackson on the 4th.
