Basketball Recap: Deer Creek-Lamont's Run of 11 Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of 11 wins, Deer Creek-Lamont's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Wichita HomeSchool Warriors by a score of 75-73. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in Oklahoma, while the Warriors are ranked 29th in Kansas).

Deer Creek-Lamont's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Wichita HomeSchool, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Deer Creek-Lamont will welcome Kremlin-Hillsdale at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Creek-Lamont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Kremlin-Hillsdale likes a good challenge. Wichita HomeSchool has already played their next match (against Christ Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
