Yuma and Wray are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Outlaws will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yuma will be strutting in after a win while Wray will be coming in after a defeat.

Yuma was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Platte Valley on Saturday. The Outlaws blew past the Broncos 10-3. While the Outlaws didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Alex Pensado was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Lennox Huwa also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Meanwhile, Wray entered their match against Burlington on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles lost 8-2 to the Cougars. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wray saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Riggleman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Yuma has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Wray, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Yuma has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wray struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Yuma skirted past Wray 7-6 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Outlaws since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
