Recap: Unity Reed Lions vs. Gainesville Cardinals
The Unity Reed Lions suffered their biggest defeat since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-47 loss at the hands of Gainesville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Unity Reed in their matchups with Gainesville: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Buvka, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Buvka has scored all season. Russell Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Unity Reed has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Gainesville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Unity Reed the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Freedom at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th. Gainesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
