Volleyball Recap: Holy Name Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Holy Name kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Elyria Catholic Panthers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Green Wave have suffered since October 5, 2024.

While Holy Name was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-22, 25-13.

When it comes to explaining why Holy Name lost, don't look at Hayden Wells. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs and two assists. Wells is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Holy Name will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elyria Catholic, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ross at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
