Basketball Recap: Emerald Takes a Loss

Emerald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 38-29 to the Southside Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-30 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Emerald lost, don't look at Le'Asia Morgan. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 boards. Another player making a difference was Jurnee Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Emerald's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Southside, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emerald will face off against Fountain Inn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southside, they will take on Wren at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside is on a three-game streak of home losses, Wren a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
