Preview: Massapequa Chiefs vs. William Floyd Colonials
The Massapequa Chiefs will face off against the William Floyd Colonials at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Massapequa sitting on 12 straight wins and William Floyd on five.
Massapequa had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Syosset 33-7. The result was nothing new for Massapequa, who have now won nine games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, William Floyd didn't have too much trouble with Sachem North on the road on Friday as they won 26-9.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead William Floyd to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Montalvo, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Geovanni Alvarez was another key contributor, picking up 155 receiving yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to William Floyd's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Justice Darling and Aaron Fisher who racked up four sacks between them.
Their wins bumped Massapequa to 12-0 and Syosset to 7-4.
