Softball Recap: Handley Has No Trouble Against Talladega

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Handley blew past Talladega 20-5. The victory continues a trend for Handley in their matchups with Talladega: they've now won seven in a row.

Rayna Smith was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynnley Lane, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Handley now has a winning record of 11-10-1. As for Talladega, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Handley will venture away from home to face off against Reeltown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Talladega, they will head out to take on Shelby County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
