Recap: Bolles Bulldogs vs. Orange Park Raiders
The Bolles Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Orange Park on Friday as Bolles made off with a 87-61 victory. Bolles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Bolles was led to victory by Evie Freeman and Presley Norman. Freeman scored 16 points along with six assists, while Norman scored 15 points along with eight assists and four steals. The matchup was Freeman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Terrell McCoy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Orange Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Piera Alexander. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Alexander continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Young, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
The win (which was Bolles' fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Orange Park, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Bolles will take on Rickards in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Rickards is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Orange Park will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on James F. Byrnes at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. James F. Byrnes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Orange Park in their respective states (James F. Byrnes is ranked 14th in South Carolina, while Orange Park is ranked 64th in Florida).
