Baseball Recap: Peetz Has No Trouble Against Briggsdale

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Caliche, Peetz was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Briggsdale Falcons with a sharp 13-3 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Rhyder Bayne made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Peetz's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 2-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Conner Schumacher, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Wood, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Peetz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briggsdale only posted an OBP of .321.

Peetz's record now sits at 5-10. As for Briggsdale, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-4-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Peetz beat the Falcons by a score of 14-2 later that day.
