Softball Game Preview: St. Anthony Saints vs. Saint Joseph Jesters

St. Anthony is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Saint Joseph Jesters at 3:15 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

St. Anthony fell victim to Woodrow Wilson and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to the Bruins, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Saints' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Saint Joseph lost 8-1 to Bishop Amat on Monday. The Jesters haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Saint Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Anthony, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

St. Anthony couldn't quite get it done against Saint Joseph in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as they fell 7-3. Can St. Anthony avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
