Volleyball Game Preview: Wisner-Pilger Gators vs. St. Paul Wildcats

The Wisner-Pilger Gators will take on the St. Paul Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Wisner-Pilger came up short against Guardian Angels Central Catholic and fell 2-0. The Gators have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Paul, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Doniphan-Trumbull on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

St. Paul never let Doniphan-Trumbull on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-17.

Wisner-Pilger's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for St. Paul, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Wisner-Pilger couldn't quite get it done against St. Paul in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
